Recognized as one of Canada's Greenest Employers (2016)

Here are some of the reasons why Aramark Canada Ltd. was selected as one of Canada's Greenest Employers (2016):

  • Aramark Canada Ltd. appointed a "Director of Wellness & Sustainability" back in 2007 to help oversee its environmental initiatives and has helped champion a number of additional initiatives through the long-standing employee-led "Sustainability Stewards" program, including the development of community and urban gardens and expanded composting and waste reduction programs
  • Aramark Canada Ltd. hosts the national "Farm Tour / Field Research" program to bring local chefs, food procurement professionals, clients and other personnel to local farms and producers to learn more about local food production and procurement -- over 65 farms and producers from across the country have been visited since the program's inception in 2010
  • In partnership with the Greenbelt Foundation, Sysco Canada, Inc. and 100km Foods Inc., Aramark Canada Ltd. participates in the "Local Food Hub Pilot Project", which has an impressive goal of restructuring the Ontario food distribution system to better connect regional food hubs with mainstream food distribution and services -- the project helps strengthen relationships between food services companies and local and sustainable producers
