Recognized as one of Canada's Greenest Employers (2016)

Here are some of the reasons why Body Shop Canada, The was selected as one of Canada's Greenest Employers (2016):

  • The Body Shop Canada partners with Polar Bears International to help raise public awareness about climate change -- internationally, the company has also made formal commitments to reduce its environmental impact, from significant investments in green energy production and energy use reductions to working with customers and suppliers to reduce the environmental impacts of its entire supply chain
  • Across Canada (and around the world), The Body Shop has launched the "Pulse" sustainable store re-design initiative, which features a redesign and a green makeover for over 800 store locations -- the redesign includes only Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) sourced wood, sustainable flooring materials, energy efficient LED lighting and upgraded energy efficient HVAC equipment and doors
  • The Body Shop Canada launched the unique "Wood Positive" program in 2012 with the goal of planting and protecting more trees than the company uses in its packaging materials worldwide -- the program commits the company to plant high conservation-value trees and protect established trees in threatened areas -- over 132 hectares of existing forests have been protected and 56 hectares of trees have been planted thus far
