  • Capital Power manages a 15-week summer work experience program, open to employees' family and friends pursuing post-secondary studies -- the program matches students with a position that provides practical experience in their chosen field of study, ranging from short-term projects, job shadowing, day-to-day policy and program work, community involvement or event planning
  • Each year, Capital Power partners with two local Alberta high schools in Warburg and Thorsby to offer two students in each school the opportunity to participate in the organization's Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) for welding, millwright, electrician or machinist skills -- the apprenticeship concludes when the RAP apprentice finishes high school and is automatically registered as a regular apprentice
  • Within the Energy Management Operations Centre (EMOC), where many young professionals start their careers at Capital Power, interested employees can participate in the Enrichment program, which provides employees with the opportunity to work in another team for up to 8 months to gain valuable experience that supports their future career aspirations
